The best bars in Leicester City Centre

The weather is scorchio and what better time to put your feet up and enjoy the sunshine in one or two of the best bars in Leicester city centre.

If you’re looking for some fabulous places to eat and drink in Leicester on a summer evening, or you’ve got a precious day off and want to spend it with friends enjoying fine food and delicious drinks, we’ve gathered together a list of great bars to visit.

Check out the best of the best bars in Leicester city centre, when you’re looking for cocktails, class, drinking, dancing and a guaranteed good night had by all. Here are a few of our favourites:

  • Manhattan 34

We had to start with this glamorous venue, situated in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter, only a short walk from our state of the art accommodation, here in Queen Street.

At Manhattan 34 you’ll find all the glamour of 1930s decor combines stunningly with bespoke cocktails and American craft beers. In addition, you can enjoy acoustic sessions and open mic nights which are perfect for lovers of live music.

  • BrewDog, Leicester

Check out this modern, upbeat bar on Friar Lane, which offers something slightly different and very US in style, by way of vintage pinball, free pool, games consoles – PlayStation and Nintendo, great beers and stonebaked pizza.

A well-known combination of metal and wood decor combine to create this super cool, laid back and trendy environment.

  • The Terrace

The place to go for a touch of luxury on your night out in Leicester is The Terrace. In the same way that the Queen Street Apartments have been sympathetically restored from a 19th Century knitwear factory, The Terrace is a sophisticated refurbishment of a Grade 2 listed building.

Here you’ll be able to enjoy live entertainment and international DJ sets, all of which it would be a crime to enjoy without a glass of champers in your hand.

  • Bruxelles

Beautiful architecture, a buzzing atmosphere and a cocktail list as long as your arm combine together to make the former Cafe Bruxelles one of the best bars in Leicester.

On top of this, their resident DJs play some of the best house music around. If you’re looking for a rather regal experience, the elegant layout of Bruxelles on the High Street makes for an excellent place to spend an evening. So, why not kick back in their delightful inner-city garden this summer and start perusing the cocktails.

  • The Bankers Club

Head over to Leicester’s financial district for this touch of 1920s art deco sleek sophistication. The Bankers Club on Friar Lane is a superb place in Leicester to go for cocktails. It even offers the chance to learn how to pour them yourself with their cocktail masterclass!

If you’re looking for a bar that wouldn’t look out of place in the more sophisticated parts of London, you’ll find it here.

Some more of our favourites in the list of best bars in Leicester include:

  • Fat Cat
  • 33, Cank Street
  • 1901 – The Turkey Cafe
  • Apres Lounge
  • The Cosy Club (again, renovated from a 19th Century knitwear factory)
  • The Exchange
  • 45 West Bottle Shop and Bar
